Canberra is Australia's Capital with a population of over 320 thousand it is also Australias largest inland city. Entirely purpose built as a compromise between Melbourne and Sydney for the Capital city title it was designed by Walter Burley Griffin after he won an international design competition. A beautiful and functional city was created which is now home to Parliament House, National Gallery of Australia, National Library and many other national monuments and institutions. Rugby Leagues popularity peaked in the late 90's with the success of the Canberra Raiders whise team featured the likes of Mal Meninga, Glen Lazarus, Laurie Daley, Ricky Stuart, Brad Clyde and Brett Mullins. Playing Rugby League in Canberra is different to anywhere in Australia with it's extreme weather and it was in 2002 when an NRL match was played in snow for the first time.
